Out of the closet and into the streets...
Ok LJ friends... growth comes.

My work in the field of sex continues and my heart is deeply invested in it, but I have decided for the time being to not write another sex book. I have posted in the past that I am working on an autobiographical book called Moon Boot Pillow. It's well on it's way. I plan to use the book as creative means to bring light to the troubles kids face in foster care. Now more than ever there is a need for quality foster homes and children continue to be places in homes where they are neglected, abused and sometimes die.

I am also going to go to school. I am starting at the bottom here but my goal is a Masters in Social Work (with a lean towards community
public health) - eventually a doctorate and to teach on the university level. I am also going to start lobbying the government for changes in
the system. If anyone can do it, I can.

With that said, don't freak out here... but Moon Boot Pillow will come out under my name. My name name. The one I never utter. And I figure
if I am going to start sharing it with the world, no better place to start but with those who have supported my deepest goals along the
way...

Here it is:

My name is DeDe Prinz.

Pronounced "prince".

My blog as a advocate for children in the foster care system is here: http://dedeprinz.blogspot.com/

If you like the blog, please feel free to add it to you blog reader, link it up or tell friends. I'll be slowly coming out of the closet on my other online forums... so no need to feel like this is a secret. But it sure feels weird.

Thanks.

xo - Ducky

"What is in a name...?"

Welcome out in the light! Love you and appreciate your work no matter the name attached to either!

I am very much looking forward to reading this book, as I work with kids AND am a fan of yours. I hope you'll do a book tour and come to LA. If you do, I'll be there!

Love you so much Ducky...I'm so proud of you.

I'm planning my masters in Public Health -- focusing on sex work specifically (sex worker advocacy and harm reduction!)

I have been a bit amazed for some time that you have been able to keep your real name out of the interwub. It seemed for a time that people would prance around Ana Voog's real name just to prove they knew it.

Good luck. With everything.

I hope you can get to Mpls again some time. (It snowed here today... it was 70 last week.)

I had some out of control fans early on... before the internet! SO I learned how to buffer myself well. My friends have always loved and wanted to protect me, so they helped as well.

I am dealing with several similar decisions about my identity, though on a lesser level. You are an inspiration.

Thank you for trusting us. May all of your readers be worthy of that trust.

BTW, I was the lone male in a striptease class you taught at Babeland back in '04 or so. Thank you for being gracious about it, though I'm sure you didn't expect any men would sign up.

Yay for foster families!

Wayne and I got our licensed issued Friday of last week. On Monday I held, changed and fed a 5.5 pound ten day old born drug exposed and taken into care. Awesome and humbling.

Yay! So proud of you.
My husband and I took the first step of going to a foster care informational meeting. We now need to sort through the information and figure out if we can make it happen. I hope we can. Your writings on the topic are always a good reminder to me about how important this is and how we need to get our shit together and make it happen.

I look forward to your book.
